Value Guard Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Value Guard collects, why, and the choices you have. Value Guard is made by EazyVerse Studio. If you have any questions, email us at hello@eazyverse.com.

The short version

Value Guard needs an account so your vault can follow you to a new phone, but the vault itself lives on your device. If you choose to back it up, the backup goes into a folder in your own Google Drive, not onto a server of ours. Receipts are read on your phone, not uploaded to be read. We do not show ads, we do not use analytics or crash reporting SDKs, and we never sell your data.

Signing in

Value Guard uses Firebase Authentication for sign-in, either with an email address and password or with Google Sign-In. When you sign in with Google, Google shares your basic profile (your name and email address) with the app.

A small profile record is kept in Google Cloud Firestore: your email address, display name, and which sign-in method you used. Alongside it we store a pointer to your Drive backup, which is the folder's id, the time you last synced, and how many items were in that sync. Your vault is never stored there.

What the app stores on your device

Everything you record lives in a database on your device:

• The items you own, with brand, category, purchase date, price paid and serial number
• The warranty terms you enter, including a separate term for each part
• Photos of receipts and warranty cards, and any PDF manuals or proof of purchase you attach

Attached photos and files are copied into the app's private storage on your device. None of it leaves your device unless you connect Google Drive.

Google Drive backup

Connecting Drive is optional and off until you turn it on. When you connect it, Value Guard creates its own folder in your Google Drive and keeps a backup of your vault record there: your items, their warranties, and the list of documents attached to each one. The app asks only for the drive.file permission, which lets it see the files it created itself and nothing else in your Drive. Your receipt photos and PDFs currently stay on the device that captured them; if that changes, they would go to the same folder in your own Drive and never to us.

Because the folder is in your Google account, you can open it, copy it, or delete it yourself at any time, and you can disconnect Drive from Account & Sync in the app.

Reading receipts

The receipt scanner finds the edges of the paper and reads the shop, total and date using Google ML Kit text recognition and an on-device detection model. Both run on your phone. The photo is not sent to us or to any service to be read.

Reminders

Value Guard schedules warranty reminders on your device using your device's own notification system. There is no push service, so we do not know which reminders you get or when. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Permissions the app may ask for

• Camera - only when you scan a receipt or take a photo of a document.
• Photos and files - only when you pick an existing image or PDF to attach.
• Notifications - used only for warranty reminders you have set up.

What we do not do

• No advertising and no ad networks
• No analytics or tracking SDKs
• No crash reporting SDKs
• No selling or renting of your personal information

Service providers

Google acts as our service provider for sign-in (Firebase Authentication), the profile record (Cloud Firestore), and Drive access. Google's handling of that data is described in the Firebase privacy documentation. Your Drive backup lives in your own Google account, under Google's terms with you rather than with us. Data held by these services may be processed on servers located outside your country.

Your choices

• Edit or delete any item, warranty or document at any time in the app
• Disconnect Google Drive to stop backing up, and delete the folder from your Drive
• Delete your account from Account & Sync in the app, or use Delete your Value Guard account & data
• Uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Android's App info screen, to remove the vault from that device

Children

Value Guard is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
