Bluefy Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Bluefy collects, why, and the choices you have. Bluefy is made by EazyVerse Studio. If you have any questions, email us at hello@eazyverse.com.

The short version

Bluefy has no account and no sign-in. Your layouts and settings stay on the phone, and everything you type or point at goes straight to the computer over Bluetooth, never through a server of ours. The one thing that does leave the phone is diagnostics: crash reports and usage counts, through Google Firebase. We show no ads, none of it is used for advertising, and we never sell your data.

What the app stores

Everything Bluefy keeps lives in its own local storage on your phone:

• The custom layouts you build, and any template you saved
• Your settings, including pointer and air mouse sensitivity
• The Bluetooth address of the last computer you paired with, so it can reconnect on its own

None of it leaves your device, and uninstalling the app removes all of it.

Permissions

• Bluetooth (connect, scan, advertise): Bluefy is a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, so it needs to present itself as one, find the computers your phone is paired with, and hold the connection while you use it. BLUETOOTH_SCAN is declared neverForLocation, which tells Android the app must not use scan results to work out where you are

• Location, on Android 11 and older only: older versions of Android required location permission before any app could use Bluetooth at all. It is a platform rule, not something Bluefy wants. Your location is never read, stored or used, and on Android 12 and newer the app does not request it

• Internet: used only by the two Firebase services described below. No part of controlling your computer travels over the internet

Nothing else is requested. Bluefy has no storage permission and no access to your contacts, messages, photos, camera or microphone.

The gyroscope

Air mouse mode reads the phone's gyroscope, the sensor that measures how the phone is being turned. It is used only while you hold the clutch down, only to work out which way to move the cursor, and the readings become pointer movement and are discarded. Nothing from the sensor is recorded or kept. On a phone with no gyroscope the mode switches itself off.

What travels over Bluetooth

Only what a keyboard and mouse send: how far the pointer moved, how far the wheel turned, which button is down, and which key was pressed. It goes to the one computer you paired with and nowhere else, in the same standard HID format any Bluetooth keyboard uses.

A text macro is simply a run of key presses, so the characters in a macro you wrote yourself are sent to that computer as keystrokes when you press the widget.

Analytics and crash reporting

Bluefy uses two Google Firebase services to keep the app working well.

Firebase Crashlytics records diagnostic information when the app crashes or misbehaves: the stack trace, your device model and operating system version, and the state of the app at the time. We use this only to find and fix bugs.

Firebase Analytics records how the app is used, such as which of the four modes you open and which features you reach for, along with device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, and a randomly generated app instance identifier. We use it to see which parts of the app people actually use.

Neither service receives the contents of a layout, the keys you press, the text in a macro, or the name or address of the computer you paired with. There is no account for them to attach to, so nothing they send identifies you. Neither is used for advertising.

The data is processed by Google acting as our service provider, and Google's handling of it is described in the Firebase privacy documentation. It may be processed on servers located outside your country.

Sharing a layout

A layout is a file. When you share one, Android's share sheet hands it to whichever app you pick, and where it goes from there is up to that app and you. Bluefy has no part in the transfer and no copy of it.

What Bluefy never does

• No account, no sign-in, and no user profiles
• Never sends what you type, what you click, or the layouts you build to us or anyone else
• No advertising and no ad networks, and no advertising identifier is read
• No third party tracking SDKs beyond the two Firebase services named above
• No selling or renting of your personal information

Your choices

• Delete any layout at any time in the app
• Forget a computer at any time from your phone's Bluetooth settings
• Uninstall the app, or clear its storage in your device's app settings, to remove every layout and setting instantly

Children

Bluefy is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
